About us

The Ashmead Primary School PTA became a recognised charity in 2010 and is here to foster close links between the parents, carers and teachers of Ashmead Primary School. We organise fundraising activities, host enrichment events and provide funding for facilities, equipment and experiences which support the School and advance the education of its children. We build strong relationships with School teachers, understanding their needs and planning fundraising goals together.

Some of the initiatives our fundraising makes possible are the playground tree walk, musical instruments, plants in School classrooms, author visits to the School, magazine subscriptions, gifting books to the children, laptops for children, library refurbishment and School excursions; ensuring all children, including those families on low incomes, can attend. The PTA also hosts fairs, social events for the School community like coffee mornings and quiz nights, an annual School disco for the children, book and plant sales, and the ubiquitous cake sales!

Ashmead Primary School, based in Deptford, South East London, is a values-based learning community. The School has a clear vision for its children; that through excellent teaching and care, children leave the school knowing they are both loveable and capable. The school has an ambitious and exciting curriculum which we are proud to support through our fundraising. School funds are tight and the contributions of the PTA are highly valued to make a difference to the experience of all pupils.
